Transferring Is Smart and Manageable

Transferring from a community college to a four-year university doesn’t have to be complicated. We can show you how.

At NOVA, we know transferring can seem complicated and overwhelming.  That’s why NOVA offers multiple transfer planning resources to walk you through every step of the process. Our associate degree programs are designed to guarantee your admission, and transfer your credits, into top colleges and universities in Virginia and beyond.

It is important to start your planning early because the requirements to transfer may vary depending on the type of agreement with a university.

  • NOVA-Mason ADVANCE is a special arrangement with George Mason University that gives NOVA students targeted, personalized support to complete their bachelor's degrees in a timely manner and save money.
  • Guaranteed Transfer Partnership Agreements guarantee that NOVA graduates with transfer degrees and a specified grade point average will be admitted to a university and that students will enter with junior standing.
  • Guaranteed Admission Agreements secure your entrance into more than 50 colleges and universities when you meet the agreement requirements.
  • Articulation Agreements do not guarantee admission to a university, but specify how courses will transfer once a student is admitted. Some agreements waive application fees, offer scholarships, or grant other benefits to NOVA graduates.

And if you want to transfer credits into NOVA, we can help you with that too.
