Apply for Financial Aid for the Upcoming Semester

Applying for Financial Aid doesn’t have to be intimidating. Our staff helps students all the time, and we can walk you through the process.

But there are quite a few steps involved. Follow the list below, and you may be studying on one of our campuses in no time.

Financial Aid Deadlines

The FAFSA becomes available at fafsa.ed.gov on October 1 approximately one year before the following academic year begins.

Please take note of the following important financial aid filing dates and apply early!

  • Fall Semester: March 1 (New and Returning Students)
  • Spring Semester: October 1 (New Students)
  • Summer Semester: April 1

Students who submit their FAFSA and any additional requested items by these dates should be awarded any funds they qualify for prior to the start of classes.

Next Steps

  • Apply for Admission, pick an Area of Study, and declare a major.

  • Apply for a FSA ID at www.fafsa.gov, then submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

  • Once you receive your Student Aid report from the Department of Education, review and / or edit your information.

  • Log into myNOVA to check the status of your financial aid application.

  • When your award notice arrives, review it carefully.

  • Enroll in classes and buy your books.

  • Be sure to apply your reward to tuition by the payment deadline.
